   人们一般以学习者个人学习英语的动机为出发点，研究学习动机的不同。英语不再只是英美国家的母语，而是社会生存发展的产物，是全球性的语言。从生存角度看，英语学习具有时代特征性。使用英语的人数甚多，应用的范围广。英语是工作语言，是一种知识技能，也是生存工具。英语学习的个人动机虽不同，却都与生存紧密相关。为了更好的生存，学习英语是极其重要的。

Abstract
  Generally people study English learners’ individual motivation as a starting point to research the different motivation. It is no longer British or American’s mother language, but the product of social survival and development, it becomes a global language.  Viewing from survival perspective, English learning has its characteristics of times. There are a large number of people using English. English is a working language, a kind of knowledge and technique, a large area of appliance and a tool of survival. Although individuals have different motivations to learn English, their motivations are closely related to survival. In order to survive better, learning English is quite important.

人类的最基本最重要的问题是生存，一切政治、经济、文化活动都是围绕生存进行的。教育活动当然也不例外，也是为人类生存服务的。在我国人们重视教育，特别是关注英语的学习，绝大部分的个人、家庭、学校都把英语学习看成是学习的重中之重。随之对英语学习动机的研究便具有现实的意义，是为了更好地提高教学质量，了解学习者，促进学习者的学习。<……
